InkBlood Writers Weekend ~ Round 4, Entry #1

How is it, when I wake up with you, there’s always a sunrise in my backyard?

I crawled to you last night, broken and lost,
Tearful eyes, my soul bladed, criss crossed.
No place else to hide, distorted thoughts,
No want to be, the life in me dwarfed.

I stumbled, I struggled, I fell into your arms,
My life in your hands, my tears in your palms.
You brushed off my hair, across my face,
I died in your arms, woken up by your embrace.

Middle of the night, I had no track of time.
I woke up to your voice, calming, sublime.
Your nervous hands, scared, shivering this time,
You lifted me up, smiled and said its dinnertime.

You fed me love, you fed me your care,
You kissed my lips, caressed my body bare.
You fed me hope, drowned in my despair,
You looked right through me, your fingers through my hair.

Tears and tears are all I spoke,
Love and helplessness is all he heard.
My feet in his arms, soiled, I soaked,
His breath on my neck, my voice it choked.

He put on all the lights, lifted me off my feet,
Dance with me to life, he said, let our hearts dance together to a beat.
Let’s be one body, make love on the sheets,
Let’s love each other, let our souls meet.

Let me breathe you in, and life back into you,
Let me devour your flesh, don’t fight back, don’t argue.
Let your hair overshadow my every sense of being,
Cling on to me, hold me tight, as if joined by a string.

Let me love you, for tonight, say that you’re only mine,
And when you wake up in my arms, I promise we will be fine.
I promise you a morning, a sun that shines,
I promise when you wake up, I’ll show you divine.
I promise each time I wake up with you,
There will always be a sunrise in my backyard.
I promise each time you fall asleep in my arms,
There will always be a sky light up with stars.

InkBlood Writers Weekend ~ Round 4

Hello Ink Lovers,

Life begins at conception, or so we’ve heard, and we do not disagree entirely. However, every Idea or a Solution is, in reality the child of Question, and if an Answer is born alone, it eventually grows up into a Question too. This may be more true for us writers, than it is for others; after all we do question everything, don’t we?

It is the Question that drives us, it is the Question that compels us, it is the Question that unites us, to create. The question is our purpose.

That brings us to today’s Writing Exercise

Here is a set of questions:

1. How is it, when I wake up with you, there’s always a sunrise in my backyard?

2. Will I taste your soul, if I take your finger in my mouth?

3. How did they kill each other when there were no bullets left?

4. Who is the shadow chasing me in my dream?

5. Will we find ourselves, in the pages of these books?

Choose any one question, and write down the answer to it – in a diary entry, short essay, poem, narrative or anecdote.

It is that simple really.

Use the best of your writing abilities for this one, and pour yourself out, really let yourself go with the writing, and give it beauty, depth and expression.

KINDLY REMEMBER to title your work with the question you have chosen, and please add your name at the end.

Foggy

Fog is here today,
A blanket that covers the earth.
Hiding what you cannot see,
a blurred image of what may be.

From where did it come,
a surprise for my eyes.
How long before the sun will shine.

It’s journey is one unexplained,
only Mother Nature knows its true game.
A sheath of wonder and mystery,
cool, calm and without shame.

In no hurry, that is true,
I step outside and find
the haze staring back at me.

There is just one thing to say,
Fog is here today.

Knotted plaits, simple dreams

Knotted plaits, simple dreams

“Trouble! Trouble!”, that’s how it weaves…

A knight at night, would you believe?

From a pumpkin carriage, distress leaves

A girl inside and her flushed cheeks

Smile stuck and love-struck

Caught between lowered shields

Beauty fiddles with the beast

Sweat and screams fill the fields

Knotted plaits, simple dreams

Infinitum Interference

Thou shalt not let the world in between
Thou shall not let the sanctity of touch be sullied
Thou shall not let the piety of word be ruined
Thou shall not let the love be laid out for all to see.

Thou shall not let the beloved wail.
thou shall not let the amour fail.
Thou shall not hold the trust hostage with semantics.
Thou shall not defy the bond with folly.

Thou shall put me second to none.
Thou shall love me more than you can.
Thou shall love my love for you as it comes.
Thou shall not snuff the winter morning’s sun.

Thou shall not seek the shoulders nor hands.
Thou shall not bother with whispers or shadows.
Thou shall not let this life, of all joy be gleaned.
Thou shall not let the world in between.

InkBlood Writers Weekend ~ Round 3

Hello Ink Lovers,

By virtue of what we do, we create, and the poems we birth begin to contain us more and more, as we learn to flow, but we must remember, every river goes back to the sea. The beginning and the end are incomplete without each other; in fact they exist as one.

Print

Le Cercle Rouge is a 1970 crime film set in Paris, France.

The film’s title means “The Red Circle” and refers to the film’s epigraph which translates as –

Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, drew a circle with a piece of red chalk and said:

“When men, even unknowingly, are to meet one day, whatever may befall each, whatever the diverging paths, on the said day, they will inevitably come together in the red circle.”

That brings us to today’s Writing Exercise

Write a poem, narrative or a diary entry, starting and ending with the same statement/sentence. You are free to title it as you wish. Try not to choose a statement or a sentence consciously. Hold the first thought in your mind and put it down in simple, felt words. There, you have the beginning. Let the ink flow and finish it with the same words.

InkBlood Writers Weekend ~ Round 2, Entry #11

Pure.

It’s the way she looks at you; her eyes speak straight to your soul.

Or it’s the way she caresses your hair.

It’s the way her eyes find you in the crowd.

Or is it the way she shields you from the malicious world.

It’s the way her voice calms your nerves, makes you feel so secure

reminiscent of her heartbeats, so inure, so familiar.

Is it the way she knows exactly how your thoughts concoct.

Or is it her touch, so warm so genial.

It’s the way she knows you a little more, with every heartbeat.

Is it the way she feels agony of your miseries.

Or is it the aching love you feel, when you leave her side

It’s the way she loves.  Pure and very lucid.

Submerge

Immersed in a warm embrace,
feel my lips kissing your face,
as they stop to caress each pleasure point
you thought no one would ever venture.
Reaching the point of no return,
your body rising to heat of the moment.
Forever wanting to receive this loving desire,
not anxious for this delight to end.

InkBlood Writers Weekend ~ Round 2, Entry #9

Arouse

Do you know that
when you turn around
and hold my gaze,
simply for a second
or ten,
You arouse in me
a love so purely passionate
that my hands spontaneously
inch forward to hold you;
My fingers tingle
with the desire to run
through your hair and stubble;
And my lips tremble
at the thought of
tracing the outline of yours.

And then,
I pause,
to hold your gaze back
and allow love
to consume me
Again.

InkBlood Writers Weekend ~ Round 2, Entry #8

Mother nature at play

Waking up to his touch,
My marmalade like,
glowing face

Sun rays envious,
Cerulean sky asks,
For some orange-crimson shades

I fly like a butterfly,
Painted so colorful,
As dipped in nature

Teleporting brightness,
To this world,
Arousing pure vapours

Wandering like a gypsy,
Spreading beauty,
Profoundly

I collapse,
But my heart murmurs,
Someone’s calling

I get up rapidly,
My electric nerves,
Empower me

Twilight gets my shine,
World needs a fairer moon ,
They require light

I fall in his arms,
Submerge once again,
And feel blessed
